Project Overview
This traditional stone-built farm house was lovingly restored and the connecting barns converted. The owners asked for a fully integrated heating system for all the buildings in the scheme. The heating system was upgraded with the addition of cast iron radiators throughout the house and a complete re-pipe of the heating system. There were 2 x NIBE 1145-12kw GSHPs installed for the main house and annex. The system also had a UVK300 buffer tank and a VPB500 litre hot water storage cylinder in the plantroom. The ground source heat pumps gather their renewable energy via 4 x 125m deep bore holes in the adjacent fields. This array gives plenty of energy for the systems to heat this large dwelling. The GSHP system was eligible for the Domestic RHI as well.
