Project Overview
This traditional stone-built farm house was lovingly restored and the connecting barns converted. The owners asked for a fully integrated heating system for all the buildings in the scheme. The entire ground floor was installed with under floor heating in a screed with cast iron radiators fitted to the first floor rooms. There were 3 x NIBE 1145-12kw GSHPs installed for the main house and annex. As the house sports a large swimming pool with hot tub a NIBE 2040-16kw ASHP was added to compliment the core system. There was also a 6 panel solar thermal array installed linked into the pool and hot water systems. The ground source heat pumps gather their renewable energy via 2.4km of collector pipe trenched in the adjacent fields. This array gives plenty of energy for the systems plus offered the benefit of passive cooling for the gym and main bedroom. The GSHP system was eligible for the RHI as well.
